Senior Architectural Technologist

 

We have been fortunate to have secured some fantastic new projects and as such are looking to grow our team. This represents an exciting time to join an established business.

 

We are seeking a Senior Chartered Architectural Technologist with experience in healthcare, adult education and pharmaceutical developments, and a proven track record of designing and delivering projects from inception to handover.

 

You will need to be an excellent communicator, be able to work collaboratively, and be able to work independently on your own projects, be able to run several projects at the same time, liaising directly with the client, other design discipline consultants, contractors and third-party specialist equipment providers / installers.

 

You must:

  • Be flexible in your approach to projects.

  • Be proactive in taking the lead role from liaising with the client to develop a project brief, preparing initial proposals, detail design and delivering projects to the satisfaction of the client, within budget and on time.

  • Manage relationships with clients and consultants.

  • Share your knowledge with others and learn from others’ experiences.

  • Understand your impact on other consultants within the project team.

  • Contribute to bringing work into the practice.

 

Essential skills:

  • A comprehensive working knowledge of AutoCAD (Further working knowledge of Revit is an advantage to integrate into the practice).

  • Managing and co-ordinating the design team and associated professional consultants, running the project team, in a project management role, and have administered both NEC and JCT contracts and monitoring the financial performance of projects.

  • Knowledge of CDM designer role responsibilities and, with support, also act a Principal Designer on some projects (and be willing to progress your development to become a member of the APS in the future).

  • Producing detailed design solutions, advising on suitable material / product selections and producing specifications.

  • Producing, managing, controlling and integrating design and production information, ensuring compliance with relevant professional, legal and statutory requirements and coordinating the information with the other professional consultants.
