HL Design were commissioned by the Health Board to provide the NEC Project Management service for the Transitional Care Services Project. The Scheme required the sequential refurbishment of several rooms in Ward 17 & 19 to enable Ward 5 to be vacated for a complete asbestos, services and walls strip-out and remodelling to provide SCBU and Transitional Care accommodation. Ward 21 was refurbished on a sequential basis, whist maintaining a clinical service.

During the works an additional 2 wards, 11 & 12, were introduced into the scheme, requiring asbestos removal and a light refurbishment. Finally Ward 20, linking to Ward 5, was refurbished to align with the Ward 5 design philosophy.

The project was handed over with the final account agreed.
